Only a few days remain until our phamily begins returning to Denton for another exciting semester! For this week's Spotlight, we will be finding out what our phriend, James Conner, has been up to this summer!

To begin his summer, James went to Six Flags with Vivi and officially put his fear of rollercoasters to rest. Additionally, throughout the summer, James took two summer classes; they were both online, so he was able to complete them both within no more than three weeks. For his first trip of the summer, he visited Gulf Shores, Alabama, where he met an alligator named Lefty. While at Gulf Shores, he also spent a lot of time at the beach, went to the zoo, saw dolphins in the wild, ate the best steak he'd ever had, went on a two-hour tour where he learned about the huge number of plants and animals in Alabama, and solved an escape room with his family!

After the trip to Alabama, James traveled to San Antonio, where he watched the DCI Southwestern Regional at the Alamodome live, and got to see Vivi while she is on tour for the Crossmen Music Education Internship. He loved watching all of the different corps perform, with his favorite being the Boston Crusaders!

Since DCI San Antonio, James has been focusing on practicing flute and piano, doing yoga, cycling in the trails to get in touch with nature, and rock climbing at his local gym...for which he has built up to climbing a 5.10-! He misses everybody, and can't wait to be back at UNT for another wonderful year of music-making!

We miss you, James, and hope your summer continues to go well!

Only a few days remain until members of our phamily begin arriving in Denton for Summer Band with the Green Brigade, and only a few short weeks remain until we come back together in-person to begin another wonderful semester for our chapter! GMG, and Mu Phi For Life!
